Its been a while. Every once in a while, a thought creeps up to me. Its been about 4 years since my last relationship. To be honest, I'm quite scared to be in relationship again. I can't even remember what it feels like to be in one. I'm not sure if I still know how to be in one.

Just like that, 5 weekends of January 2011 went by. Things are still looking up, and hopefully will continue on to do so for the rest of the year. Pretty soon I'll be back to the good life back in KL. Can't wait. Its practically all I've been thinking about the past 2 weeks. People would say Australia can offer me a better life, but no thanks, I'll have the good life of KL.

In a few months, I'll turn 25. Thats a quarter of a century. Seeing peers of my age, they've obviously achieved a lot in 25 years. Mostly with degrees, a handful with jobs, some are married, some even with children. Me? Oh thats a different story all together. I wish I could say I was cryogenically frozen for a few years so thats why I'm a tad slow. But that will just remain a wish. So many plans in my head, just stuck there. I'll try and push a few out, hopefully this year.

Felt like it was just last week that I welcomed 2010. It went by so fast. Now its already 2011. If you asked me what do I remember most in 2010, it'd say its a hard call. Not because there's so many to recall, but there's hardly any in the first place. As forgettable 2010 is, it still left an impact in my life. I came to realize the things that were and are important to me. Took a while for me to realise it, but I eventually did.

I'm very much looking forward to 2011. So far it started out good. Spent quality time with friends on new year's eve. Even on new year's day. Now I even have someone important and dear to me back in my life. I'm happier.

So there I sat, in the shower. With water crashing at the top of my head, rushing down the sides. I was hoping the sound would silence out my thoughts. It did for a while. But just not long or loud enough. Amidst the sounds of water all around me, my thoughts were still swirling around in my head. They were still fixed on you.

I tried to focus on the sounds of the water crashing. But it only made me think about things even more. I thought of the events of the past 2 weeks. The events has made me realize things I always thought I knew, I didn't. It has opened my mind and heart to a whole new idea and understanding.

I know now what I want. More than ever.

In between all the hustle and bustle of life, we often forget the important things in life.

The things we believe in just fade, bit by bit. We loose track of what makes us. Often enough, life throws a few friendly reminder to us every now and then. If we're lucky enough, we'll realize it early enough to get back on track. Same can't be said for some people. They go through too far down the rabbit hole that they forget who they really are, or what they stood for.

I've come to realize so many things about my life since I've been abroad. Thankfully I am still pretty much the person I am when I left, at least I'd like to believe so. Matter of fact, I might even have grown and matured a fair bit. As they say, the only change worthy is towards the better. I'm also thankful for the great friends that I have in my life, you know who you are. Thanks for helping me with my problems big and small.

I don't really know where I'm going with this, so I'm just going to end it here.

24th March. A date that no matter what will always be my favourite. This year's date is no different. In fact its slightly significant for me. Its the year I turn 24. If you've been around me long enough, you'll know what turning 24 is important for me.

I've been through my share of ups and downs over the years. This time, for the first time, I'm celebrating away from home and loved ones. I honestly never thought I'd be in this situation. Never planned to fly to Australia to study. For many months I pondered if I made the right choice. And for many months I thought it was the wrong one. Of late, I think it was the best decision I made at that point of time. This major move has taught me many things. Allowed me to learn more about life and myself. Made me appreciate the things I used to over look back in KL. Most importantly, I've learned that I've grown. I take care of myself better. I study (significantly more than I did in KL). I learn. I understand. I appreciate.

I might have still learnt all this if I stayed in KL. Probably later on. I might not even realize them ever. Life is unpredictable. We can plan for the best. Everything will unfold itself with time.

I lost my train of thought somewhere between there and here. So I guess I'll just make a short ending. It has been a great 24 year. The things I've done. People I've got to know. Places I've been. I appreciate them all. Here's to many many returns.

It has been ages since I last updated this blog. I particularly blame this on Twitter. I has enabled me to express my thoughts in an easier way. So I'm not even sure if anyone will actually be reading this post. Looking back at things, its already been a year. Time really really just swiftly passes by nowadays. December of 2008 is very much still fresh in my memory. Amazing. Just 12 months later.

With new year approaching, its usually time to reflect on the year. I have to say it has been a rather big year for me. With 2010 being the year of the Tiger, I'm really hoping for even bigger things in the year to come. I've never made resolution or the sorts. I'm not starting to either. I will however still keep on moving and improving myself. Enjoy and savour this precious life. '

Since coming to Sydney, I haven't been updating as much as I wanted to. Its not that I don't have things running through my mind anymore, its more that I can't find a way to put the into words anymore. Coming here has indeed taught me a lot of things. Especially regarding myself. Which is good, since part of coming here is for me to, how to say, have a bit of soul searching for myself.

I was heading down a good, smooth road. Until I ruined it for myself. Always with the same reason; love. It is the single most distracting matter that can turn my life upside down, inside out. I literally just lost my bearing. Only a handful of people know whats really happening.

I guess pretty much for some of the matters, I have to do what I have to do. lets just hope it turns out right.

After meeting the GT-R for a few times, I finally got to have a ride in it. To make the experience even better, R mode was on for all 3 setups. Hehehe. Being a car enthusiast, I've always wondered how exactly does it feel to accelerate under 5 seconds? Because the fastest car I've ever driver is my dad's 525i or my mom's CLK 230K. Which is already fast to begin with. So nothing ever prepared me for this experience.

The moment Alex started the car, my heart just stopped. I just sit in awe and listen to the V6 roar. We backed out of the driveway. I clicked in the seatbelt, eager for the journey to begin. "I'll have to wait till the transmission is up to temperature, so we won't be going so fast yet." Alex told us. I guess slow isn't really a vocab you have when you're driving such a car. He floored the pedal, and we were speeding through the neighbourhood. That single moment answered my earlier question. Now I know how it feels to accelerate under 5 seconds. Intersection after intersection passed firghteningly fast. Before I knew it, The Royal National Park.

Its the nearest thing I can imagine to be the Norderschlief. Twisting, winding roads. Small, tight lanes, Lined with trees and greeneries. Alex looked to his dash, and flicked 3 switches. 3 R's now light up on the dash. He wasted no time and floored the car. The sensation was unexplainable. Everything was just a blur. I only focused on the road ahead.

Turn after turn, my mind recalls back all the reviews I've read and saw regarding the GT-R. And now I finally understand what the articles were trying to say. At that moment, it could have only been any better if I were in the driver's seat. But my day has yet to come. For now, I'll just enjoy that day. Till a better one comes.

p.s. I have always wondered to myself who would need a 4 blade shaver? Because I've always thought the 3 blade ones were already good. Till today happened. I got myself a 5 blade shaver. The gadgetier in me just couldn't resist. Probably try them out tomorrow. =D

New Sunshine

First of all, I'd like to apologise for the very very long delay in updating. The past 5 to 6 weeks have been hectic for me. So now, I'm finally settled down to actually update about things. Overall, I'm slowly fitting into the lifestyle. Kind of hard to adapt as for the past 23 years of my life being in Malaysia and the past 6 years as a growing adult in Kuala Lumpur, with the past 6 months spent with friends at mamaks and various eateries spending time away. Here, everything is closed by 6pm. Except for maybe pubs. Practically I end up with nothing to do after 6pm.

Before I had my internet it was practically hell. Just staying in with nothing to do. Which leads to me hitting the sack at 10pm. Yes, thats 8pm back in kl, from what I remember is the time we're just about to go for dinner or just simply busy doing nothing. Amazingly I wake up at 7am everyday. Without fail. I guess I'm still not comfortable with this.

I guess I'll leave this for now and update more late on. With pics from before departure.

In the stillness of the night. Lonesome. Calm and cooling.

I take a deep breath, thinking about things. "I shouldn't be thinking about this." I told myself.

Yet it keeps on playing on like a broken record. I can only sigh.

I looked around my room. I then realized that I've been living in this room, my own little sanctuary, for a little more than 9 years. Feels much shorter than that to be honest. So much memories. I can still remember my first night in this room. Feels like yesterday. One thing I'll miss more is my car. My companion for the past 4 years. My best friend so to speak. All the late nights, early mornings. Road trips, friends, family. My batmobile. Gen2 Merah Membara, Ja said. Haha.

Speaking of good times made me realize that everything and everyone, has a special place in my life. My weird little hobbies. Makes me smile every single time.

Have you ever wondered what is it like to look back at your teenage life, more precisely teenage love life when you are older? I know I have. It seems kind of surreal to me to be honest. All our lives, as teenagers, not being able to be with someone is usually because the other person is with somebody else or they simply don't want to be with another person. When a relationship ends, it is usually the end of the story or sometimes the ending of the emotion towards each other.

As I've gotten older, especially of late, it got me thinking. What if I'm in love with someone who's getting married? What if the love of my life died? What will happen to me? Does one simply move on and get along with life like in the earlier stages of his life? Or should one stay and devote to the feelings they hold dear to them?

I can't give you my answer. Because simply, I don't know what my answer is. I've had my older friends share with me their life. One told me that she once bumped into an old love. Only to find out that he doesn't even remember who she is. Even though married, she explained that old memories of significant people in our lives tend to stay, for her side at least. Can you imagine that? Bumping into someone who to you is significant to your life only to find out that the other person doesn't even remember who you are?

I've recently got to know about my father's friend, who is married, but is having an affair. Suprisingly, its with his old high school sweetheart. So I thought to myself. What if one day, after marriage, I still have feelings for old flames? To those that know me well enough will know that I'm not one to have feelings towards multiple people. But what if you can't have the one that means the most? Only to have a chance with them later in time? I find it very hard to decide if I were to be put into that situation, especially I've always said that I only want one woman in my life. So really, is there right or wrong in this? Follow the heart or follow the brain? Logic versus emotions.

Then again, I might just be thinking too much. All these late nights doing nothing has put my brain into overdrive with these random thoughts. I guess I shall leave these thoughts here for the moment, and ponder upon another matter.

Waking up to the Sun

Sometimes, you don't realize how much things have changed. I guess it's because we only see our view of things. Just few days back i realized, that I've been wearing and owning my Brazil jersey for 12 years. I thought to myself, "Wow, I can still fit it even now." Then you start to see even bigger things, like how younger people just seem like they are the same age as you. We go to college, we go classes. Heck some graduate faster than us. =/

At times, I guess I get too complacent with life. Which is unhealthy I think. I shouldn't be. We shouldn't be. Took me more than 5 years to sort of figure out what I want to do with my life. At least I think I know. Or do I? Hmm. But yea, at least now I'm trying to get my life on track and trying to get things done. Don't get me wrong, not that I never did or try, I just didn't or couldn't find a way or reason to. As with most things, motivation is a very significant factor.

I've only roughly have 4 weeks left before I fly off. Quite frankly, it is intimidating. I've been wanting to fly off to another country for quite a while. Never have I thought I'd be nervous about it. Some of you might think that I'd be worried about cooking or doing my own laundry. Heck no, I've been doing my laundry for half my life, just not the adult half. Its more about being in a place you're not familiar with. The different culture, people and rules. I do tend to make a fool out of myself. Doesn't help that I did it in Australia of all places. Some of you would know what I'm talking about. Yes. That incident. Stop laughing. I mean it.

What makes it worse is that I have yet to find a place to stay. To be honest, I'm quite particular about it. No, I'm not expecting a fancy bachelor pad or something, just something comfy and cosy. Somewhere I don't have to worry about cooking, or laundry, or hanging out. Somewhere I don't have to worry about having weird housemates or room mates. The horror. I've been telling my parents that I want a place in town. For reasons that I think are fair enough. My mom on the other hand insist that I stay in a dorm, near to campus. Simply because she wants me to be near to campus so that I won't be late. Frankly, I can practically live in class and still be late. So why bother. Its not that I want to be late, just saying that if I were to be late. I will. No matter where I stay. No?

I'll update more when I have the time.

Glossy black surfaces, hints of aluminum, a touch of leather. Took me a while to choose my mobile companion. For quite a while I was contemplating on the MacBook Pro. But one day, after a suggestion from Peter, I checked out if Dell had any DDR3 laptops. So they did.

One thing that made me fall in love with this Studio 16 is that its so similarly done to a MacBook. The specs and especially the backlighted keyboard.

I've had this current pc setup for about a year plus now. Only lately have I considered it complete.

Had a slight streak of good luck for the past few months. When my graphics card died on me, I sent it for warranty, took them a while to decide that they can't fix it though. So they decided to replace me with a new one. Boy was I happy. They replaced it with the new GTX 280 card. =D Had the same luck with my monitor as well. Got a 23 inch monitor in feb. One day shy of its 1 month mark, it died on me. It also had a dead pixel which was annoying me to a certain point. Sent it in, and they decided to replace me with a brand spanking new one. =D

Tips on Fuel Saving

Pump petrol at night or in the early mornings. The temperature is cooler at these times so the molecules of the petrol are shrunk. This means you get slightly more petrol for the amount you are paying. If you really want to get everything, then lift up the hose so that ever single drop is not left in the hose.
Service you car regularly. A well maintained car means it is performing at its best.
Be careful with your right leg. This is both for the throttle and the brakes. Throttle on moderation as excessive throttling will obviously mean using more petrol. Avoid braking suddenly and braking often. As you car moves, the petrol and air mixture will change. After a certain amount of cruising, there will be more air in the mixture than petrol. When you brake, this same amount won't be sufficient to keep the engine running, so the computers will change the mixture to more petrol to ensure the engine doesn't die.
Check you tires often. Make sure there is enough air in them. As less air will make the car drag itself, which means the engine has to pump in more petrol to keep up with the demand. Also look into fuel economy tires. These tires have specially designed threads to have less resistance. Keep in mind for you drivers that want performance. These tires are not for you.
Plan your routes. Knowing your routes well will help you save on fuel. Know which road will be more efficient for you with consideration of time and money. Some roads might be longer but remember cars use less petrol while cruising at a constant speed. Avoid getting stuck in jams as this is a major reason for fuel waste.
Clean up your car. See those random things lying around in the car? Get rid of them if they are not essential. Might not seem like much, but these things might amount to a considerate weight. The heavier the car is, the more the engine has to put out to cope with it.
Use good car batteries. Find car batteries that takes less time to charge. When the battery is charging, it is stressing out the engine which means again, more petrol use. Having a battery that requires less time charging means your engine won't be stressed.
Speed up before a hill or incline. Building up speed before going up a hill will save fuel. If you start throttling once you reach the bottom of the hill, again, more petrol use as the engine needs to cope up.
Wash and wax. Keeping the exterior of your car clean does help improve your fuel economy. Amazingly.
Use the highest gears if possible. Lower gears are set for performance while higher ones are set for economy. If you car is equipped with cruise control, this will be a gem to help you save up on fuel.
Aircond vs windows. Air conditioning uses stresses the engine. So think every time you switch it on. If you are driving at low speed or around town, its better to drive with the windows down. Once at highway speeds, just switch on the ac.
Avoid idling the car for too long. Cars consume on most cars a mixture ratio of 9:1 of petrol and air while idling. Its best to switch if off then restarting it again later.
Warm up the engine. Not only is this good for the lifespan of the engine, but it saves fuel as engines use up more fuel when its cold compared to when its warm.

I've come up with a good explanation to why I can't snake properly anymore.

Yea, that guy. You see, in the comics, The Flashes get their power from the Speed Force.

With out the Speed Force, they would be powerless.

So this is how my explanation goes. The ones that snake are Lavan, Wengs and I.

At the current moment, only Lavan can snake consistently. Wengs and I, well you get the idea.

Wengs is still better than me though. I believe there is a Snake Force, and I believe currently that Lavan is using all of it. Hence why the other two can't snake for nuts.

It has been like what? 3 weeks since the price hike of petrol prices? Many have criticized this move made my the government. A 70 cent increase from the previous price. Or a rough estimation of 40% increase. This increase has indeed put a strain and burden on everyone. The effects of petrol going up is also felt in other means of items and services. Food is slightly more expensive. Services charge extra nowadays.

The government used to spend 17 BILLION, note the caps, on subsidies on petrol goods. Apparently, they are pulling back the subsidies to use the money for betterment of the nation. So far they are planning on improving the public transportation system, which so far I only know of the expansion of the LRT/PUTRA rail system. The government is now 17 billion richer. But one can only wonder, why did the government take away our subsidies, and the next day decide to rebate us from the road tax? Hold on for a moment. I know you will say that it will lighten the burden even though not much but lets try seeing it from another way.

It is mentioned that this rebate system will give back to the people in a rough estimation of 5 Billion. Get the picture yet? No? Let me explain. The government took from us 17 billion, and gave us back 5 billion. Why not just take 12 billion from the start? Wouldn't that be and easier solution and less of a burden to us Rakyats? IF they had done that, the petrol increase would have only been about 30-40 cents.

We all know that we can get our rebates for the road tax from any post office. Question is, why the post office? You have to bring your car grant, which at times even JPJ can't know if its fake or real, and now we're taking it to the post office where the staff have no idea what so ever about these documents? Wouldn't this be more susceptible to fraud? And we're not talking about small amounts of money here. This gives these crooks a place to gain access to a part of the 5 billion. Why not the bank? Why not JPJ offices? Where the staff are more trained and skilled.

Which brings me to the whole problem, why did our petrol prices have to go up? The government says that they need money to fund projects to make Malaysia a better place. Isn't there other places to get back the money? Why not enforce tax collection? A lot of businesses and individuals evade tax payments. If I'm not mistaken, our annual tax collection is 50 billion. Mind you this with all these people evading and cutting taxes. If the government had better enforcement, I'm pretty sure they would at least be able to collect double the amount collected now. They said that the petrol prices have to go up because of the increase in crude oil prices in the international market. Which cost around 130 USD per barrel? Problem is, WE ARE AN OIL PRODUCING NATION. We export our crude oil and import lower grade ones for our consumption. It is refined right here on Malaysian shores. And remember, the per barrel prices, are for CRUDE oil, not petrol. Say if this really affects our production of petrol, lets do a bit of maths. A barrel contains 158 liters of crude oil. So with it being 130 USD( lets just take a 4 ringgit exchange for 1 usd) it will cost about 520 ringgit per barrel. Which makes it about 3ringgit per liter. Keep in mind a barrel of crude oil can make about 78 liters of petrol and other by products.We are exporting our oil which we get money from and we import a smaller amount for our own usage. Naturally won't we earn more than enough for us to pay the cost of importing it? What about the taxes companies like Exxon or Shell have been paying? Other oil producing nations have petrol prices under 1 dollar in their own currency. Oh yea, I think Petronas' annual profit was in the news last few days, I think it was 70 billion. So some one tell me why we can't afford to subsidize the petrol for the Rakyat then? Like I said, there's many other ways the government can find income with out burdening the general public.

After jacking up the petrol prices suddenly, the government tells shops and services not to increase their prices. Are they insane? Everything needs transportation. And transportation needs petrol. Is it fair for these people to keep the same prices and earn less? And the government can tell us to change our life styles. And what? Not eat rice? Not eat chicken? Not use lights or fans in the house? How can they ask us to change our life styles when what's affected is essentials of the society. Every single price increase is affected by the increase in petrol.

I'm sure you all know our electrical tariffs are up together with the petrol prices. Apparently, TNB can't sustain it self at the same rate. After the tariff hike, guess what TNB did. Senior management got a salary increase of 100%! If they can't afford, shouldn't they be cutting down cost instead? AND the salaries of the CEOs of the GLC companies. Dato' Nazir of CIMB bank, earns 9 million a year. AND WE ARE PAYING FOR IT. Maybank is a bigger bank and it's CEO earns about 3 million a year, from us the Rakyat too. But 9 million a year ? Ridiculous! No wonder the government doesn't have money.

The current government has been in seat for 3 years. Petronas earns about 60 Billion a year. SO thats 180 Billion. Wonder where has that gone. And this recent 17 billion. Wonder where its going now.

As most of you all know, we entered the COD4 tourney with high spirits. All in all we tried our best and we lost to the better team. The team that won us had a margin of a 8-2 win. And this team managed 3rd. The first team whooped them with a margin of 8-1. Imagine if the champions were against us instead. It would be as how Adam said

"they would have fed us our balls on little tea spoons."

Tasting uber defeat most of us went to OU to watch Speed Racer. While most of them hated the movie, I have to say I loved it. Most of them didn't watch the Speed Racer cartoons when they were young, so maybe thats why they didn't like it. The movie reminded me of old times. I'm just a sucker for movies that has anything to do with my childhood. To be honest the movie made me have teary eyes. Especially towards the end. The movie made my awful day just much better. To those who used to watch Speed Racer as a kid, go and have a blast!

Out of a sudden, I just felt like searching about the old cartoons I used to watch when I was like what? 3 years old I think. Last year Adam and I did the same thing, we searched for those shows that we watched when we were small. While Adam found his shows, I didn't. Tonight, I finally found those shows. Boy am I a happy kid right now =D Adam, I'm sure you can know how I'm feeling right now. Since a young boy, I was always fascinated with robots or mechas. My favourite shows would always involve robots. One example is Transformers. Not forgetting Voltron. Now I found the remainder of my childhood once again. SaberRider and The Star Sheriffs. Grandizer. But I love it. I miss those times :D

Time is running out.

Some things just make you stop and wonder. Makes you reconsider everything in your life. For some it might be a life changing event. For some it might just be a relatively insignificant event. Nonetheless gets us thinking about what we have been doing in our lives. Gets us to realize that its time to get a grip on things. Time to do something in this world. Its at the point where we realize that time is running out.

Malacca Roadtrip

On Wednesday, 23rd of January 2008, a bunch of us went down to Malacca for lunch. We've been talking about this little trip since a while back. Finally able to do so. We initially planned to leave KL at 11am, but decided otherwise. Instead we left at 930am. Amir, Fidi, Charlene, Victor, Yip, Arnold were the passengers.

We headed out in 2 cars, driven by Jason and I. Took us about 90 minutes to reach Malacca. The city was bristling with traffic. Boy, were we hungry.

We parked our cars in a nearby parking lot. From there we took a short walk down very nice pre-war shops. It was my first time going through Malacca on foot. Usually I would be in a car driving around to the places. Walking gave me a whole new insight into the city. After 10 minutes of walking, we finally made it to the chicken rice shop. =)

As we walked into the shop, we realized that leaving at 930am was a good idea. Despite being only 1130am, the shop was almost full with customers. We quickly grabbed our seats. Jason and Victor placed the orders for us. I think we ordered 1 and a half of stimmed chicken and plates of rice balls and all of us had ais limau which was refreshing as it was a very sunny day.

After a very satisfying lunch, we decided that we needed cendol for dessert. We settled the bill and were on our way. Victor was on point as he knew Malacca better than any of us. We maneuvered between alleys and streets, in search of our cendol. But not before some shopping! Fidi and the others went into a few shops looking for souvenirs to bring back.

Then we were off again for our cendol, but not before realizing that we actually made a wrong turn somewhere so we had to backtrack. After another 10 minutes of walking, we made it to the shop. We placed our orders and waited patiently for it to come while cooling ourselves down from the walk. When the cendol arrived, we all just started to dig in. This cendol is very different though. I was surprised when i tasted it. They actually mixed the cendol with coconut water. It just blended right in with the cendol. The coconut water gave the cendol the extra umph it needs. Soon after everyone was satisfied. With nowhere to go, we decided to head back home. In all, it was a very nice trip. Hopefully we will have more of road trips in the months to come!
